Felixstowe Specsavers is proud to announce that 15 members of the team have qualified as Dementia Friends.

Creating understanding in communities

Dementia touches the lives of millions of people in every community. The Dementia Friends training was launched to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding associated with the condition, which can lead to loneliness and social exclusion in sufferers.

The Alzheimers Society initiative involves an online training session where staff learn more about dementia and the small ways they can recognise symptoms and assist customers that suffer from the condition.

By creating more communities and businesses that are dementia friendly people affected by dementia can feel understood and included.

A word from the director

Naeem Kazi, store director commented: ‘This training is so important both to the business and to all the individuals involved. It’s vital that we can accommodate every customer and make their experience with us a positive one.

'All our trained staff can be identified by a little blue badge so if you want to learn more or need assistance, just come in store and say hello to our newly qualified team.’
