The team at Specsavers in Faversham has welcomed a new staff member into the store as part of its optical apprenticeship programme.
Weronika Gorska is one of more than 200 people currently enrolled on the UK’s biggest government accredited scheme, which will see her gain one year’s experience at the Faversham store.
A wonderful addition to the team
Faversham store director, Shehtaaj Moorad, said: 'With apprentices, you really get an opportunity to watch skills grow.
‘As well as teaching our apprentices about the business while they work with us, we are able to send them on courses to ensure they build up their optical experience.
‘Weronika is a wonderful addition to our team here and we look forward to seeing her develop as she continues to work with us.’
The Specsavers Optical Apprenticeship programme
Specsavers’ one-year apprenticeship is open to anyone over the age of 16 and requires no previous optical experience.
Those that complete it become qualified optical assistants with the chance of full time employment at Specsavers.
The programme also opens up further studying opportunities to successful apprentices, with the potential to qualify as a dispensing optician within five years.
