The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service joined Specsavers staff and customers in store to celebrate World Sight Day.
The fire service joined forces with Specsavers in Falkirk to help promote important health and wellness messages to the community.
The store handed out questionnaires to help customers determine if they could benefit from a free fire assessment from the local fire brigade.
Meanwhile, firefighters carrying out home assessments also gave residents eye health surveys, and reminded people about the availability of free NHS eye examinations.
World Sight Day
The high street opticians welcomed local firefighters to the store on Thursday 11 October to mark World Sight Day.
Zander McNaughton, store director at Specsavers in Falkirk, said: ‘Our partnership with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has always worked very well in the past, and this year’s event was no different.
‘Thank you to Scott and the rest of the Falkirk fire service who visited the store on Thursday, it was very successful and went down very well with our customers.’
Scott McGregor, of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, said: ‘A brilliant day was had by all, and more importantly we were able to promote an important message about health and wellness.
‘The partnership with Specsavers allows us to educate the community and spread the message to those we may not have been able to reach normally.’
