Experts at Specsavers East Ham are urging local people to get their five a day – as it could improve their sight.
The store, in High Street North, is also keen to remind customers to get an eye test every two years in order to spot any vision issues straight away.
Eat right for great sight
Research has suggested that having a regular intake of Vitamin C could help keep your vision healthy.
So all those fruit and vegetables could be having an effect on your eyes, as well as your waistline.
A word from the store director
Ravi Persand, store director in East Ham, said: ‘There really is more than meets the eye to fruit and vegetables. The Vitamin C they contain could help keep your vision healthy for longer, as well as improve your general health.
‘While you are taking some time to focus on your health this New Year, why not get an eye test too. They are quick and easy, and could help detect a number of conditions early on so they can be treated.’
