Specsavers in Dumfries is helping youngsters to stay safer when out and about during the darker afternoons and evenings by donating high-visibility vests to local school pupils.
Primary one pupils at Loreburne Primary received vests from the Specsavers store in the Loreburne Shopping Centre.
The vests are designed to increase the safety of local children by making it easier for motorists to spot them on dark afternoons.
Helping youngsters stay safe in winter
Specsavers Dumfries store director Jill Dickson said: ‘As the afternoons get darker, it can be very difficult for drivers to see pedestrians.
'Dusk is a particularly difficult time as many youngsters are walking home from school.
‘We’re so pleased that we’ve been able to donate the vests to help children stay safe.’
