Comic Relief spirit
Visitors to Specsavers in Downpatrick can join in with this year’s Comic Relief theme ‘give us a wave’ with Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day glasses.
The glasses, which have a waving hand on each side, come in children’s and adult sizes and are just £2, with all the money donated to Comic Relief.
Customers are also being encouraged to take a waving selfie while wearing the glasses and share it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave.
Helping changes lives
Specsavers is an official partner of Red Nose Day and all the proceeds from the £2 glasses sold in store goes to Comic Relief. Projects being backed this year include supporting people with dementia, helping people suffering from anxiety disorders and paying for life-saving medical attention for severely ill children in Uganda.
Lynsey Caldwell, director of Specsavers Downpatrick, said: ‘We are pleased to be an official partner of Red Nose Day and hope that customers in the area will give their support to this fabulous charity initiative. The initiative has helped many charities and positively changed the lives of countless individuals both locally and globally.’
