Like father, like son
Congratulations are in order for 22 year old colleague, Haitham Al-Omari who has just passed his qualifications to become a dispensing optician.
Keeping it in the family
If ever there was proof that somewhere is a great place to work, it's when your dad encourages you to join his team. Yehia, director at Specsavers in Dorking, was naturally proud to see his son follow in his footsteps when he decided to embark on a career with Specsavers.
Great career progression promised to school leavers
Haitham is fortunate to join a business that nurtures talent and provides a framework to train and support ambitious employees. In fact, his promotion comes at a time when the store has been awarded Platinum Employer - an accolade that recognises its investment in career progression and supporting its staff.
Sunday part time job becomes full time profession
Haitham said: 'I started working for the Dorking store on Sundays, six years ago, to get a bit of money when I was at school.
'I realised that I loved being around people and thrived in a fast pace retail environment that has health and professionalism at its heart. I also enjoyed seeing all the fashionable frames come into the store for the first time, and it's so rewarding to help a customer pick out a frame just for them when they become a glasses wearer for the first time.'
