A Dumbarton opticians is helping youngsters stay safer when out and about on darker afternoons and evenings by donating high visibility vests to a local primary school.
Pupils from Lennox Primary School received vests from Specsavers on High Street.
Optical assistant Sarah Mackintosh visited the school to give the vests to the youngsters, and during the visit, she spoke to the pupils about the importance of being visible to drivers, as well as having regular eye health checks.
The vests are designed to increase the safety of local children when they’re out and about by making it easier for motorists to spot them.
‘At this time of year, it can be very difficult for motorists to see pedestrians, and dusk is a particularly hazardous time as many youngsters may be walking home from school,’ Specsavers Dumbarton store director Robin Mitchell explained.
‘Helping to increase the safety of local children is so important and we’re pleased that we have been able to donate the vests to help them stay safe.’
