Didcot put the Film Club in the frame
The team at Specsavers Didcot are supporting the local Film Club – helping to ensure the local community has access to a range of less mainstream movies.
The store is sponsoring the local club, for the second year running, which gives people the chance to see films that would not otherwise be screened in Didcot, and to build a community of film-goers.
A word from the store director
‘We’re delighted to be supporting the Film Club again this year,’ said store director Rukhsana Bi.
‘It’s great for local people to have access to such a range of cult and classic movies, plus it helps instil that all-important community feel. We’re happy to help keep the club alive and our team are all looking forward to going along to some of the screenings.’
Didcot Film Club founder David Rouane said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Specsavers Didcot for their continued support – without them we would struggle to continue to offer this service.'
About Didcot Film Club
Didcot Film Club was set up in 2012. The films shown at the club often don't get a wide commercial distribution and include English language arthouse films, those in a foreign language and great old classics.
Screenings are monthly on a Wednesday evening and the films are shown in the main hall at Cornerstone on a big screen.
