Staff at the Derry store marked a £250,000 refurbishment scheme with a special week-long series of competitions, giveaways and money-off vouchers in store.

The Ferryquay Street opticians and audiologists has recently completed an extensive refit and expansion programme and the facility now hosts five test rooms and a contact lens specialist zone as well as a new hearcare room.

The store, which extends over two floors, has recruited two additional staff and now employs 32 people from Derry-Londonderry and the surrounding region.

Party to say thank you

Store director and dispensing optician Maeve Walsh said, ‘We’re delighted with our new, more customer friendly facilities and want to share our celebrations with patients, local people and other businesses in the city centre.

'We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone and decided to organise an autumn week-long party in store.’

Cutting edge technology

The store refit has also been designed using Specsavers’ unique iHarmony technology which ensures customers have a seamless and stress-free journey through the store.

Staff are utilising digital precision eyecare, a cutting-edge way of selecting and fitting customers’ spectacles using imaging software on tablet devices.
