Specsavers in Croydon have excelled in their fundraising efforts for Comic Relief this year, raising over £1,300 for the charity.
Both Specsavers Croydon North End and Church Street combined to sell over 600 pairs of their Comedy Specs, which were available to customers for just £2. The stores also collectively raised a further £167 from a cake sale and small raffle to win prizes that ranged from Easter eggs and wine to candle sets and grooming products.
Specsavers Croydon store director, Bill Pennell commented, ‘We’re extremely proud of the amount of money we’ve been able to raise this year and it’s a testament to both the hard work of our staff members as well as the generosity of our customers. It’s a wholly worthwhile cause and we hope that our efforts will go some way to helping us reach our national target over £250,000.’
