‘Spec’tacularly funny fundraising
Visitors to Specsavers in Consett would have been forgiven for thinking they needed an eye test when every member of staff was dressed in red rather than their usual attire.
But the one-off dresscode was all part of the store’s recent fundraising campaign for Red Nose Day.
Valuable funds raised
Generous customers at the Middle Street store raised £144 from buying Comic Relief glasses and by donating towards the team’s red attire. Gary Barker, store director, said: ‘I’d like to say ‘thank you’ to my team and our fantastic customers.
'Comic Relief improves the lives of vulnerable people both across the world and here in the UK, so every single pound they raised will help someone who truly needs it.’
