Specsavers in Cleveleys is calling out for customers to contribute to its charity campaign to help the people of Zambia to see clearly, after collecting hundreds of unwanted glasses during 2016.

Generosity

Working with Vision Aid Overseas, staff and customers at Specsavers Cleveleys have shown their generosity by donating old glasses to the store over the last year, and hope customers can help them collect even more in 2017.

The project was hugely successful in 2016, and the team is hopeful that donations will continue to be received throughout 2017.

Recycled glasses

All the collected glasses are recycled and the money made is used to help provide eyecare in developing countries.

To date, Specsavers has channelled more than £800,000 into eye care charity Vision Aid Overseas. In 2011 the company opened Zambia’s first optometry training centre; an achievement Specsavers hopes to develop on in the future.
