Customers visiting a local opticians recently were greeted by members of staff dressed in a variety of sports gear to raise funds for national charity, Children in Need.

Members of the team from Specsavers on Cricklade Street had collection buckets in store and offered specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) to customers and passers-by.

Helping to make a difference to children

‘Children in Need is a fantastic organisation and one that we’re delighted to have supported this year,’ said store director, Kelly-Anne Nelson.

‘Our fundraising weekend was a great opportunity to raise essential funds and make a difference in the lives of children across the country.’

Team effort

The entire team, including the optometrists, swapped their usual uniforms for sports gear to raise awareness of the appeal. To boost their fundraising total further, the store had a collection for old pound coin donations.
