The Chorley store boasts a laboratory that produces thousands of pairs of glasses every single week.
Under the charge of lab manager Simon Walsh, the state-of-the-art facility in the Chapel Street store makes up to 3,000 pairs of prescription glasses for seven stores across the county on a weekly basis.
A team of 12 dedicated staff are on hand seven days a week to glaze, case and deliver prescription specs from the opticians’ diverse collections.
With 17 years of experience, Simon Walsh leads the team in the lab.
He said: ‘We have a fantastic facility here in Chorley, which serves Specsavers stores across the county and we’re very proud of the work we do here.
‘People might not automatically think of laboratory work when they think of Specsavers, but we are a vital part of the team and are committed to producing specs of the highest possible standards.’
