Chop for charity
A team member from Specsavers in Chelmsley Wood is chopping off her locks to help the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to boys and girls who’ve lost their hair through cancer.
Shannon Banks (20) will be donating 16 inches of hair to the charity on Thursday 1 July, after she witnessed first-hand the great work that the Little Princess Trust does.
‘A close friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer three years ago and I was amazed with the amount of support that she received during her diagnosis from the Little Princess Trust,’ said Shannon.
‘After seeing the positive impact it had on her journey, I thought it would be a great idea to undergo the chop myself and hopefully make someone else’s journey a little bit easier.’
A word from the store director
‘Shannon has the support of the entire team on this fundraising activity,’ said Chelmsley Wood store director, Sukhwant Drake. ‘This is a very special thing to do and we would love to see Shannon raise as much money as possible for the Little Princess Trust, so please dig deep and donate to this brilliant cause.’
You can sponsor Shannon by popping into the store or visiting her fundraising page.
