Staff at Specsavers in Chatham have happily donated a pair of designer frames to the local Medway Youth Trust National Citizen Service (NCS), to support one of their fundraising quiz evenings.

Social action project

NCS is a government initiative, which aims to get young people from a wide range of backgrounds working together to plan and implement a social action project within their local community.

The initiative is also highly involved within the local community and one of their current project involves clearing Fort Luton in Chatham. The old tunnels of the Fort have been covered by vast amounts of clay. Once cleared, they will be used as an education centre, to raise interest in the local history of the town.

NCS

Punit Patel, store director at Specsavers in Chatham, says: ‘'NCS is such an important charity for the community and for the young and we’re really pleased to be able to support them in some small way.’
