Staff at Specsavers in Chatham have cooked up a fantastic sum for Macmillan Cancer Support thanks to a charity bake sale.
The store raised a jaw-dropping £617.70 from selling cakes and taking customer donations during the day. Staff were delighted to be able to share some cake with local homeless people too.
Best cake of the day prize
The grand prize – for best cake of the day – went to admin receptionist Charlotte Griffiths who baked an impressive (and apparently tasty) bumblebee. Dispensing assistant Jenny Swire won the cake by naming it Mr Bumble.
A word from the store director
Punit Patel, store director in Chatham, said: ‘This was a terrific event for our staff and our customers. Our team dug deep to produce some delicious handmade (and store bought) creations. Raising such an impressive sum for Macmillan Cancer Support was just the cherry on the cake.’
