Longevity on the High Street
Specsavers in Chatham recently celebrated its anniversary, marking 25 years of service to the Chatham community.
David Moorman, store director at Chatham, oversaw the opening of the store in 1992. This was the first store in the South East area and at the time featured two test rooms, a contact lens area, a lab and less than ten members of staff.
A quarter of a century later, David is still store director, together with Punit Patel and Olu Fayefumni, and the store has changed considerably. It now features a completely new design and seven test rooms, two contact lens clinics, a hear care clinic and 46 members of staff.
A word from the director
David says: ‘It is impressive to see how far we have come. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our amazing customers and staff.
‘Over the years we have strived to not only offer the best possible optical service, but also to play a vital role within our community, which has always supported us. We wouldn’t be celebrating this milestone if it wasn’t for them’.
To celebrate the store’s anniversary and the employees’ hard work, the store directors organised a luxurious dinner for all the staff and also awarded three longstanding staff members for their ten years of service at the store.
