Specsavers staff in Canvey Island recently joined the local carnival to show their support and help collect money for local charities.
Free gifts along the parade
Staff from the store, wearing their Specsavers t-shirts, joined local residents along the parade route, handing out flyers, to raise awareness of the importance of eye health and giving away free gifts; including frisbees, furries and pens.
Part of the local community
Store director Jemma Paynter said: ‘It’s really important for us to be part of our local community. We were really happy to get out of the store, to meet and talk to people from the area.’
Optical assistant Ian Roberts, who helped to organise the store’s involvement in the carnival said: ‘We all had a lot of fun on the day and it was great to raise money for some great causes.’
The money raised by Specsavers in Canvey Island for the carnival, will be distributed to local groups and charities chosen by the carnival organisers.
