A team of young footballers will take to the pitch in style this season thanks to the support of Specsavers in Brownhills. The opticians have sponsored brand new kits for the under 11s team, Walsall Wood Rockets.
'Talented group of young footballers'
Store director, Justine Page said: ‘We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Walsall Wood Rockets under 11s this season. They are a talented group of young footballers and a great example for other children in the local area to get active and involved in sports.
‘Looking after your eyes is extremely important, particularly for the younger generation and for those who engage in sport. We hope to raise awareness about regular sight tests and eye health through this sponsorship too.’
'Big thank you'
Club secretary, Adrian Westwood, says: ‘We would like to say a big thank you to Justine and the Specsavers team for buying the kits. At Walsall Wood we have a lot of kids take part and these kits can be expensive so the families and the club are extremely grateful for the sponsorship.’
The season for Walsall Wood Rockets officially started in early September, and they are part of the Lichfield District Recreational League. They have been playing youngsters from other teams in the surrounding areas including Sutton Colfdield, Staffordshire and Warwickshire.
