Specsavers in Bridgnorth is ensuring the local community will be seen when out and about this winter by handing out free high visibility vests to a local running club and Brownies group.
During the Bridgnorth 10k charity run, Specsavers handed out high visibility vests to members of Bridgnorth Running Club. The local Brownies group, who also received free high visibility vests, were on hand during the run giving out water bottles to those en route.
A word from the store director
‘Now that the days are shorter, it’s even more important that people can be seen clearly,’ said Teresa Hughes, store director at Specsavers Bridgnorth.
‘Whether that’s children on the walk to and from school or those out running or riding bikes, the vests will hopefully come in useful.
Road Safety Week
‘November marks Road Safety Week (20-26 November) and with the clocks also going back, we thought it was the ideal time to hand the vests out,’ Teresa continued.
Road Safety Week is the UK's biggest road safety event and is coordinated annually by Brake, the road safety charity. Road Safety Week aims to inspire thousands of schools, organisations and communities to take action on road safety.
