Brentwood store director, Manoj Pater, joined a number of other Essex store directors and the Essex regional relationship manager, Roy Thorogood, to take part in a mega charity cycle challenge last month.

The charity bike ride, which saw brave Specsavers staff cycle 64 miles, was organised to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Beyond expectations

The team initially set a target to raise a whopping £1,000 for their chosen cause, but have exceeded all expectations by raising an amazing £1,817.

Speaking of his delight on how much the team raised, Manoj Pater, store director at Specsavers in Brentwood, said: ‘I’m thrilled we’ve raised almost double our target amount.

‘Even though the bike ride was a very trying task it was worth it in the end to raise a great amount for the Alzheimer’s Society.’

Manoj added: ‘It was a great day and I know the Essex stores are planning more fundraising activities for the future as well as ensuring all stores have a qualified Dementia Friend.’
