Recruiting future stars of Specsavers in Bletchley
Your local Specsavers needs you! Bletchley is on the lookout for undergraduates to join its successful team as a pre-registration optometrist (pre-reg).
The team, which has been awarded the group’s Platinum Employer status, is led by optometrist and director Bhavash Kotecha. Having started the practice from scratch, he has a whole host of experience in various fields including pre-reg supervision. He also strongly believes in building patient rapport, with full clinics of patients willing only to see him.
Support spells success
Bhavash said: ‘Here at Bletchley, we are a small family thriving to serve our customers with the best service and products.
‘We pride ourselves on great team work and everyone helps each other out as we teach everyone the importance of multi-tasking. Pre-regs are well managed – you won’t feel pressured to cut down testing times and a hospital placement will be arranged.
‘I run the store with my wife Ekta. We are both optometrists and fully understand the constraints faced during your pre-reg year, having it done ourselves.’
Encouraged to flourish
After pre-registration qualifications are achieved, there's a host of options to explore. With new Clinical Commissioning Group contracts, you will be encouraged to participate in specialist training schemes such as Minor Eye Conditions and Glaucoma.
Should you wish to go on Specsavers’ Pathway programme, which trains employees to become fully qualified to own their own store in the future, this is also encouraged and directed. Alternatively, you may wish to pursue a management role.
Bletchley is a very easy location to get to whether you'll be driving or taking the train. For those who drive, it’s a 45 minute journey from North West London. For those taking public transport, there's a fast train from Harrow Weald and Watford going straight to Bletchley train station.
Salary and benefits
Salary packages are attractive and will be discussed at the interview process. Your store will usually pay for General Optical Council fees, provide schemes covering medical, dental and insurance.
Bhavash added: ‘So if you’d think you’ve got what it takes and are interested to learn more about career opportunities at Specsavers, please visit us in store or call 01908 365 533,’.
