Blackheath in the frame for new opticians
All eyes will be on Specsavers in Blackheath which opens on Thursday 19 October, creating eight full-time jobs for local people.
The business will be run by three directors, Gurdeep Dosanjh, Iram Noreen and Hussnan Ejaz – who are all familiar faces to Specsavers as they work at the Dudley practice.
Expert eyecare services for the community
The brand new store has three, easily accessible, test rooms on the ground floor, including sound proof rooms for hearing. Customers will benefit from Digital Precision Eyecare, which ensures everyone receives the very best professional care and advice in frame selection and dispensing for their prescription, vision and lifestyle needs.
The technology allows the optical team to help customers select their glasses following an eye examination. Imaging software on a tablet takes a photo of them wearing the glasses, which in turn captures a range of essential dispensing measurements. These are unique to the customer and their chosen glasses.
Dedicated contact lens area in store
The store also has a dedicated contact lens area and a high-tech digital retinal camera that helps with the early detection of conditions like glaucoma, by taking a picture of the back of the eye. Digital retinal photography is offered at no extra cost as part of the standard eye examination service.
Store director Gurdeep Dosanjh said: ‘We are delighted to be launching the new store in Blackheath and are very much looking forward to welcoming customers through the doors.
'Our aim is that they will see us as the equivalent to their friendly local GP and can be sure of the best possible standards of eyecare and customer service.’
The store will have an official opening ceremony together with a celebratory party day.
