Specsavers Bexhill are celebrating the news that one of their team has just graduated as a dispensing optician.

Ayesha Bano, who has worked at the Western Road store for five years, started as an optical assistant at Specsavers Eastbourne with no optical experience.

Training and development

After she joined the Bexhill team, Ayesha worked with the store team to gain her Cert 3 and Cert 4 qualifications.

She went straight into the second year of a course to become a dispensing optician through the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) College, while still working in the store four days a week.

A word from the store director

Rob Lofting, store director in Bexhill, said: ‘We are extremely proud of Ayesha. She has been with us for quite some time now, and has really grown and developed.

'She is very bright, and is a really valued member of our team.

’At Specsavers we spend a lot of time developing our people to help them become the best they can be, so if you are pondering a career change why not think about joining us today.’
