Specsavers were once again delighted to be part of this year’s Inspirational Youth Awards organised by Belfast Media Group.

Hundreds of proud parents, grandparents and guardians packed into De La Salle College to celebrate the annual awards, which shine a spotlight on the talents, efforts and hard work of young people in West Belfast across a variety of fields including sporting, dancing and musical categories.

200,000 votes cast

Prior to the gala awards evening hosted by BBC weather presenter Barra Best, over 200,000 votes were cast and on the night winners and runners-up were presented with trophies and certificates.

Specsavers staff attended the awards extravaganza and store director Matthew McKenny presented trophies to winners in four categories; Inspirational Martial Arts (boys and girls) Inspirational Primary School Teacher and Inspirational Boys Boxing.

Congratulations to all winners

Matthew McKenny said: ‘All the staff at Specsavers in Park Centre would like to congratulate all the award winners. We had a fantastic evening and there were many heart-warming and inspirational stories.

'Our thanks also go to Jacqueline and the Andersonstown News team for all their hard work making the evening extra special for everyone who came along.’
