Specsavers in Beckenham and Penge have combined to raise over £200 for Comic Relief.

Over the course of the past month the stores have both been selling comedy specs for £2 each, which feature quirky waving hands. Specsavers stores across the country have been selling to glasses in support of Comic Relief, in an effort to raise over £250,000 for the charity.

With the help of both the Beckenham and Penge stores, Specsavers have managed to collect over £470,000, bursting through their target with ease.

A word from the director

Store director for both the Beckenham and Penge stores, Ushma Patel said: ‘It’s a superb effort on behalf of all of our stores to have raised such a substantial amount for what is a wholly worthwhile cause. We’d like to thank all of our customers that helped contribute towards this wonderful achievement.’
