The team at Specsavers in Beckenham and Penge feel there are a whole host of young local heroes and is urging them to share their stories to be in with a chance of winning a prestigious award.

Specsavers in Beckenham and Penge supports its founder's cause

Dame Mary Perkins, founder of Specsavers, has a special request for young people is Beckenham and Penge.  Dame Mary is a patron and supporter of the BCYA (British Citizen Youth Awards) and these awards are very close to her heart. 

They celebrate and recognise the amazing achievements of young people who support the community, local charities and society as a whole - and she believes there could certainly be a great local hero worthy of an award in Beckenham or Penge.

If selected as a winner, you could go on to attend a day at Palace of Westminster in October 2017, where Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins will present the medals to those individuals who have done amazing things for their communities.  It’s really easy to apply too. 

The British Citizen Youth Award is open to all children who will be under the age of 16 in October 2017. To apply, please email jacquif@britishcitizenawards.co.uk with BCYA in the subject line. The deadline for all entries is Wednesday 9 August 2017.
