Man’s best friend paid Specsavers Bath a visit on Tuesday 3 April as part of a fundraising day for Guide Dogs.
The team were joined by puppy walking volunteer, Janice, and Quince, a trainee guide dog, between 9.30am and 10.30am. Customers were able to sample sweet treats as well as take part in a raffle, with the chance of winning a host of prizes kindly donated by local businesses. These include; Sacco Beauty, North Hairdressers, The Bath Sweet Shop, The Cork, The Bird in Hand and The Silver Shop. Raffle tickets will be available to buy until Tuesday 17 April.
To further boost the fundraising total, staff carried out specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) in return for donations.
‘It was great to welcome Janice and Quince into the store,’ said store director, Phil Lodge. ‘They also took part in our training session before the store opened so we could learn a bit more about Guide Dogs and how the dogs are trained. It’s always a really popular charity with our customers so we’re hoping for a substantial final fundraising total.’
Specsavers has proudly supported the charity for more than 10 years, raising a nationwide total of £270,000 to fund 25 guide dog puppies.
