Fundraising fun for Comic Relief
The team at Banbury Specsavers whipped up a fundraising frenzy as part of activity for Comic Relief, raising £150.
On Saturday 18 March, staff cycled continuously on a static exercise bike in store while youngsters were encouraged to take part in a colouring competition.
The winner was chosen as Massie Mason who received a pack of Red Nose Day goodies. On Red Nose Day (Friday 24 March), staff and the store itself were dressed in a red-theme while customers were able to buy sweet treats in a bake sale.
‘Everyone had great fun while also raising money at the same time,’ said store director Paul Bridge. ‘We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone that came down and got involved.
'We were also selling the official comedy Red Nose Day specs for £2 each and these were flying off the shelves.’
Specsavers in Banbury joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
