Five staff from the Banbridge Specsavers team completed the Bann 10k run/walk around the roads of Banbridge in aid of the store’s 2017 charity challenge to raise funds for both Craigavon and Daisy Hill hospital’s neo-natal and special-care baby units.

Great evening and atmosphere

Store director Wayne Watson said: ‘Everything went very well and we all made it round the 10K course despite the very warm conditions.

'It really was a brilliant evening – a superb atmosphere and we all really enjoyed the challenge. Though our legs were a bit sore the next day! Doing the walk for such a worthy cause really spurred us on.’

Two worthy causes

The Specsavers store have chosen Daisy Hill and Craigavon baby units as owner and optician Wayne Watson and wife Lynn, both from Banbridge, had experienced wonderful care and support at both hospital units when their twins Micah and Isla were born prematurely at 31weeks.
