Specsavers opticians in Ripon recently pulled out all the stops to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event for their customers.
The Specsavers store on Fishergate hosted the coffee morning to collect donations for the cancer charity. The team had a variety of homemade cakes and refreshments on offer in exchange for donations in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
A word from the director
Caroline Sullivan, store director at Specsavers in Ripon, says: ‘We all know someone who has been affected by cancer so it’s important to support charities that do such fantastic work to help sufferers and their families. Our coffee morning went down a treat with all those who visited our store.’ This year the store raised £30 from selling their baked goods.
World's Biggest Coffee Morning
Each year Macmillan Cancer Support invites employers, volunteers, families and friends across the UK to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in September. The event helps to fund medical, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer sufferers and their families. Last year’s event raised more than £215million for the charity.
