Antrim Specsavers is a collection point for Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal. Organised by Downtown Radio and Cool FM on behalf of Cash for Kids, everyone is invited to donate gifts which will be distributed to disadvantaged local children in time for Christmas Day.
Davin Quinn, store director said: ‘We had such a successful campaign collecting for Mission Christmas in 2016 that we couldn’t wait to take part this year. It’s a fabulous cause and being a father myself I want every child to enjoy a wonderful Christmas morning with presents.’
Plea for new and unused gifts
Cash for Kids is a registered children’s charity whose mission is to raise money to help the thousands of disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland who right now are relying on their support. For Mission Christmas the charity needs new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0-18 years.
Stephanie Laverty, charity manager, said: ‘In 2016 Mission Christmas helped over 13,361 children across Northern Ireland and we’re thrilled to have Specsavers back on board this year as a drop off point.’
Making Christmas a reality
‘Nearly one in four children right here in Northern Ireland are living in poverty, and for many of these children Christmas is just a dream. By dropping off an extra gift or making a donation to Mission Christmas, you’ll be helping us make Christmas a reality!’
