All eyes on the ball for Cornwall rugby referees
The Cornwall Rugby Referees Society (CRRS) is delighted to announce that Cornwall Specsavers, which has 10 stores in the county are sponsoring referees shirts and socks this season.
The shirts are reversible with gold on one side and light blue on the other, avoiding any chance of clashing colours on match days.
A total of 25 adult referees and 10 young match officials, aged 14 to 24 are benefiting from the deal.
A word from the sponsors
Lucy Eva commented at the partnership launch on behalf of Specsavers stores in Cornwall: ‘We’re delighted to be part of the county wide Specsavers sponsorship of the Cornwall Rugby Referees. It’s great to support a local society for a sport that means so much to us all in Cornwall.
‘We have no doubt this will be a successful partnership and we hope that it encourages more young people to join the field as Young Match Officials.’
Looking the part
Chris Hailey, CRRS referee coach, said: ‘Thank you to Specsavers Cornwall stores for their support and sponsorship. This is a new and exciting partnership for all concerned. The new kit will promote our referees and make them look the part as the men in the middle.
‘Our thanks also go out to the Cornwall RFU for their additional funding of £100 towards the young match officials kit.’
