All eyes were on Accrington Specsavers as the long-standing business celebrated its 25th anniversary of caring for the eyes and ears of the local community.

Having stood in the same spot at the heart of the town centre for a quarter of a century, the Accrington Specsavers team boasts 100 years’ of combined experience in ophthalmic and hearing care.

Happy Birthday 

In addition to decking out the store with balloons and happy birthday messages last week, the store’s dedicated team, renowned for their friendly customer service and unrivalled expertise, held a bake sale in aid of the Guide Dogs UK charity, which provides mobility for the blind and partially sighted.

The store has been a long-term supporter of, having already raised over £5,000 to sponsor the successful training of local guide dog and regular visitor, Bert, a golden retriever and German shepherd cross.

Customers also witnessed a standout performance from the talented members of local House of Fusion dance troop right in front of the store.

Suzanne George, store director, said: 'The team were determined to celebrate their milestone by raising money for a fantastic cause We’re extremely proud of our heritage as one of the town’s long-standing businesses.'

Community Legacy

Suzanne added: ‘It’s a wonderful history that we’re reminded of every day as we regularly welcome the children of parents who have been coming to the store since they were infants accompanied by their mums and dads.

‘Of course, none of this would have been possible without the enduring support of our local community.

‘On behalf of the whole team, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that joined us this weekend to help us raise as much as possible for the Guide Dogs cause and to the wonderfully talented House of Fusion who wowed everyone.’
