Specsavers in Abingdon are delighted to announce that more than 10 staff members have qualified as Dementia Friends, allowing them to better understand the needs of customers suffering from dementia.
A word from the store director
Andrew Threlfall, store director of Specsavers Abingdon said: ‘Creating this awareness of dementia within our team is a positive development for the store and our customers.
‘With more information about the different elements of your sight and hearing that dementia can affect, it helps us understand how we can take the time to support and care for our customers.’
The training covers all aspects of dementia but is particularly relevant to Specsavers because of how different senses can be affected, including sight and hearing.
