Dunfermline supports festive charity appeal
Staff at Specsavers Dunfermline are getting in the Christmas spirit this year while supporting national charity Changing Lives On Ur Doorstep (C.L.O.U.D).
The store is a drop-off point for this year’s Christmas appeal and the team is asking customers and people in the local community to donate a toy which will be gifted to disadvantaged children to brighten up their Christmas morning.
The charity, run by volunteers, was set up in order to help those in need and relies on generous donations of clothing, furniture and food in order to make other people’s lives a little better.
Donated toys can be new or used, in good working condition, and must be suitable for children aged 1-9 years old. They can be donated from today until Thursday 21 December to local drop-off points including the Dunfermline opticians.
Store director Grace Hepburn said: ‘We’re delighted to play our part for such a great cause. Toy donation is such a simple but effective way of making sure that children and young people living in more difficult circumstances still wake up to a gift on Christmas Day. We would encourage anyone passing the store to donate a toy - any shape or size will be most welcome.’
