Staff at Specsavers in Market Drayton have been raising money for Help for Heroes. They manned a charity stall at the Market Drayton Christmas lights switch on, and held a competition to name a chocolate elf that was kindly donated by Tuesday’s Fine Confectionery. In total, £165.48 was collected through the efforts of the team.
Staff really got into the Christmas spirit, dressing up and turning the store into a Christmas grotto. Debra Fitzsimmons, store director, said: ‘It was fantastic to see our staff get behind the effort and really put the effort in. They are all passionate about giving something back to charity and it shows in their enthusiasm.’
A team from the store are signing up to the Tough Mudder challenge in August, hoping to raise £1,000 for the same charity. Help for Heroes is the store’s nominated charity for 2016, and they will be collecting donations throughout the year and hope to present the charity with a cheque in later October 2016.
