Members of staff at Specsavers Long Eaton are thanking local residents for their generosity following a whole month of fundraising for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People inspired by National Deaf Awareness Week.
£200 for charity
The team at Specsavers in Long Eaton pledged to raise £100 to sponsor a hearing dog puppy for eighteen months, but exceeded their fundraising target, collecting £200 for the charity. Staff members contributed to the total raised by customers, meaning that they are able to sponsor two puppies.
Hearing director Raj Somal said: ‘We’ve had an inspirational month in store. We held an ongoing book sale and raffle for the whole month, then organised a cake sale as a one-off event, which went down fantastically well with our customers!’
Raj continued: ‘Hearing Dogs is a truly worthy cause, so we were thrilled to have had such a positive response to our fundraiser. The £200 will go towards sponsoring two puppies, supporting the ongoing work of this amazing charity. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us exceed our fundraising target.’
Specsavers Audiologists and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People celebrated 10 years of partnership earlier this year.
