Specsavers in Swadlincote sees a way to keep children safe
Specsavers in Swadlincote is helping to ensure children can be seen clearly this winter by donating high-visibility vests to St Edward’s Catholic Primary School.
Raj Patel, store director, visited the school to donate 30 vests to raise awareness of road safety and the importance of being visible on the roads when out and about.
Raj said: ‘It’s so important to educate children on and raise awareness of keeping safe and visible on the roads, particularly in the winter when visibility can be limited. Hopefully the high-visibility vests will give parents and teachers peace of mind when children are walking to and from school.’
Specsavers stores across the country have been donating high-visibility vests to local schools and other community groups as part of Road Safety Week (17-23 November) of which Specsavers is a co-sponsor.
Road Safety Week is organised by Brake, the national road safety charity which helps to save lives and support people bereaved by road crashes.
