Generous customers and staff at Specsavers in Stranraer raised more than £200 for Breast Cancer Care in a fun-filled fundraiser. The store in George Street hosted a ‘Pink Tuesday’ recently to generate funds for the charity and to raise awareness of its vital work.

The star attraction on the day was a giant cupcake, which was raffled. Lucky winner Gillian White, from Portpatrick, was delighted to go home with the sweet treat.

Impressive total
Staff were also decked out in pink clothes on the day, and helped collect a grand total of £202.

Store director Elaine Hawthorn said: ‘Breast Cancer Care is a charity that means something to everyone who works in the store and it’s very important to us to raise money for such a worthy cause.

‘We would like to thank all of our customers who donated and staff who worked so hard to make it such a great event. We’re very pleased with the amount raised.’
