Specsavers in Kendal celebrates eighth year as Mintfest founder sponsor
Staff at Specsavers in Kendal are celebrating eight years as a founder sponsor of the region’s must-attend event, Mintfest, which was held in August.
A community united
Specsavers, on Stricklandgate, has proudly supported the increasingly popular annual festival, which unites the community with spectacular shows and dazzling street performances, making it one of the UK’s leading arts scene events.
Store director at Specsavers in Kendal, David Harrison, explained, 'Since its inception eight years ago, we’ve taken great pride in supporting Mintfest, and this year is no exception. We’ve always been impressed with the sense of community the festival creates, allowing people to come together and engage with the visual history of Kendal in an interactive and exciting way.
'Perhaps most importantly, we love the laughter and fun being a part of Mintfest provides; it really is the glue that binds our community together.'
Exhilarating arts and entertainment
Featuring an exhilarating schedule of arts and entertainment, Mintfest’s mostly free programme has grown to include a range of different elements.
This year, these included Mintfest on the Streets, a veritable feast of artistic talent on the main street of Kendal; Mintfest @ the Factory, a delightful array of theatre and circus cabaret; Mintfest Playground featuring two beautiful dance pieces at Stramongate School; and fabulous world music and cabaret nights at the Brewery.
Proud founder sponsors
As proud founder sponsors, Specsavers Kendal’s unwavering support for Mintfest will continue, as David concluded, 'The legacy Mintfest is creating for Kendal and the entire UK’s art scene is exceptional, and to be a part of that is something we intend to celebrate for many more years.'
