Specsavers in Shipley and Idle are joining forces and encouraging patients and the local community to buy extra gifts and essentials this Christmas to help spread some festive cheer to those who are less fortunate.
Chirstmas is a time for giving
Local residents can drop off all donations, which will be boxed up and gifted to two charities in the area, Cash for Kids and the Bradford Soup Run.
‘Christmas is a time for giving, so we’re more than happy to be donating gifts and essentials to those who may not be as fortunate over the festive period,’ said store director Bhrat Phakey.
‘Whether it’s a box of Christmas chocolates or simply some basic toiletries, every little helps when it comes to thinking of others and giving for a good cause.’
Gift boxes donated to Cash for Kids will be given to children’s charities and organisations in Bradford for disabled and disadvantaged children, as they continue to provide essential care and support to children in the community.
Gift boxes donated to the Bradford Soup Kitchen will go to the homeless during the Christmas period, in addition to a nutritional Christmas dinner, clothing, boots/ shoes and bedding. In particular they are looking for warm hats, scarves, gloves and socks.
