Specsavers Hereford awarded for Excellence in the Community
The team is proud to announce that on Saturday (6 December) we won at the 2014 Specsavers Excellence in Eyecare Awards, held at the Birmingham ICC!
For the past four years, we’ve been working hard to look after our customers by offering the best service possible, but we’ve also supported a huge range of local causes. As a result, the store won the ‘Excellence in the Community’ category; the team demonstrated a passion for the local community by working together to give something back to the town. Blackmarston School, SSAFA, St Michael’s Hospice, The Haven and Headway Charity are just a few of the local causes the store has supported this year.
Store director at Hereford, Nialle Smith, said: ‘I feel emotional about this award. I think we got it because everyone at Hereford is so passionate about playing their part in the life of the community. I know that every team on the shortlist is the same, but tonight I feel so pleased for my team. They take a lot of pride in knowing that the community recognises all the work they do for so many good causes.’
Staff development is important too!
The team was also shortlisted in the ‘Excellence in People Development and Engagement’ category for going above and beyond to take the growth of employees to new heights, demonstrating a track record of developing and engaging employees. The ceremony, which recognised passion and brilliance in eyecare across the nation, took place at a glitzy gala dinner on Saturday 6 December at Birmingham’s ICC.
