Throughout the months of December and January, Specsavers in Hemel Hempstead supported local charity DENS, Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter and raised £173.

The charity works to support and empower people in the Dacorum district who are facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion. They support food banks, day centres and hostels whilst offering advice and skills development.

What the team did

Specsavers in Hemel Hempstead asked for donations as they wore Christmas jumpers from the official Christmas jumper day, up until Christmas Eve – true dedication to the festive garment!

The store also asked for donations to be made for glasses repairs throughout December and January. Staff work tirelessly to keep customer’s glasses in top condition so it’s a great way to encourage the community to give back.

Proud staff members

Priti Amrania, store dispenser and PR lead, says: 'We would like to thank our customers, patients and store team for the generous donations which helped to raise £172.51 for DENS the local homeless shelter, food bank & day centre.'
