The team at Specsavers in Droitwich hosted a contact lens awareness day on Saturday (30 April) while raising funds for Sight Concern Worcestershire.

Free trial

The day was an opportunity for specs wearers who’ve never tried contact lenses to pop in for a free trial. The team also informed customers about the range of different lenses available, including multifocal options.

As well as discovering the benefits of contacts, customers also got involved with the ‘guess how many contact lenses in a jar’ competition and made use of specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments), helping to raise £40 for Sight Concern.

Myth busting contact lenses

Store director, Emma Singh, said: ‘For those people who don’t want to wear glasses, or who maybe want to change their look, contact lenses can provide a fantastic alternative.  But because of the various myths surrounding them, we find some of our customers are worried about giving them a go.’

Sight Concern Worcestershire is the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with sight loss across Worcestershire. The charity’s aim is to support blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
