Specsavers Croydon used the Royal Wedding celebrations as a great excuse to jazz up the store and raise funds for a cause close to Prince Harry’s heart.
A store fit for a king or queen
The team organised a royal wedding party on the day of the big affair, decorating the store with union jack bunting, flags and balloons, and putting on a spread for customers to enjoy. There was tea and cakes, ice cream fruit salads, strawberries and cream and cream tea, quite the surprise for those coming in for new spectacles. The team also gave out goodie bags for children, with sweets, colouring books and pencil and bubbles, and a grown-up version for the adults, which included cleaning spray, cloths and vouchers.
A raffle was held throughout the day to raise funds for ‘Help the Heroes’, an organisation which provides lifelong support to injured veterans of the British Armed Forces, and one which Prince Harry is an ambassador for. The team managed to raise £110 by raffling off prizes such as shortbread bundles and royal wedding memorabilia.
