Beeston opticians helps save local festival
Specsavers in Beeston has teamed up with sister-stores in Ilkeston, Long Eaton and Eastwood to ensure that the popular Hemlock Happening festival goes ahead this summer whatever the weather.
Important for the community
Along with other local sponsors, the £5,200 donation by the Specsavers stores will cover the costs of a big-top tent hosting the main stage and bar, so festival-goers can enjoy the show regardless of the ever-unreliable British weather.
Store director Krishnar Parmar said: ‘When we heard the festival needed support, we stepped in to offer sponsorship. It’s a great event for all the family, and ensuring the much-loved event continues each year is important for the community.’
The festival will include live music, performances from local schools, opportunities to try out various sports, arts and crafts with interactive workshops as well as fairground rides and food stalls. The event will conclude with a fabulous fireworks finale.
