Specsavers Audiologists in Totton, Southampton, Romsey, Shirley and Bitterne are extending the number of days they are able to offer domiciliary hearcare services to local customers.
A word from the hearcare director
Dr Alison Vaughan, hearcare director, said: 'This service is available to people who are genuinely unable to visit one of our stores. A dedicated domiciliary team for the stores will now be able to provide hearing tests, hearing aid fittings and aftercare at customers’ homes, three days a week.'
The team is led by registered hearing aid dispensers and supported by hearcare assistants, and offers the service to both private customers and NHS customers registered at the following surgeries: Lyndhurst Surgery, Totton Health Centre, Forest Gate Surgery, Testvale Surgery, Red and Green Practice, Forestside Medical Centre, Waterfront and Solent Surgery, Alma Road Surgery, North Baddesley Health Centre, Abbeywell Surgery, Hedge End Medical Centre, Bursledon Surgery St Luke’s and Botley Surgery, West End Surgery, Blackthorn Health Centre.
The team will also supply hearing services on a private basis to people resident in the following postcodes: SO14, SO15, SO16, SO17, SO18, SO19, SO30, SO31, SO32, SO40, SO42, SO43, SO45, SO51, SO52
Alison advised that customers can be referred by their GP, while people wishing to purchase privately should call the Totton store on 02380 008009.
Alison concludes: 'We’re delighted to be extending the number of days our domiciliary team is available to visit customers. With the move, we’ll be able to provide further hearcare and advice to local residents in the comfort of their own homes.
